Yamaha SR400 early model (2H6), 1978. The seller owned this motorcycle for 15 years and has extensively maintained it. Notable upgrades and original parts include a VM carburetor with 500cc accelerator pump, 2J2 muffler, and narrow tank—components rarely available. The engine underwent a complete overhaul approximately 8 years ago and shows no oil leaks typical of vintage SR400s. The swingarm has been disassembled and cleaned annually to prevent common seizing issues. The chain and sprockets were converted to 520 to prevent chain-on-engine contact, a known problem on this model year. The regulator was replaced with a new original part before they went out of production. Stem bearings were upgraded to the final-model type; no stem play is present. The motorcycle has had at least one major service at every major system except the speedometer, which was replaced by a shop without the seller's knowledge (discovered during listing). Comes with two keys; the helmet holder was replaced. The bike is currently registered but will be temporarily deregistered before transfer, with documents sent by registered mail alongside the keys. Pickup is welcome (weekends preferred); if transport is needed, the buyer must arrange and pay for it.

Seller rates condition as good with minor scratches and dirt. The speedometer was replaced by a service shop without the seller's awareness and is not the original unit; all other major systems have been thoroughly maintained or rebuilt.
