This is a rare, period-correct Kenwood 2DIN CD/3-disc MD deck, model DPX-9000MJ. The seller states all functions were checked and work properly: CD playback, MD playback and disc changing, AM/FM radio, LCD display open/close, speaker output, and illumination lighting. The unit has been overhauled, including cleaning the CD lens and rubber roller, cleaning the MD lens and adjusting laser output, adjusting the MD mechanism slipper clutch, checking the MD seek gear, and cleaning the MD recognition switch, resulting in fast, reliable disc reading. The seller notes this model commonly suffers illumination failures, but this unit's illumination lights up fully without issue. An aftermarket Bluetooth module has been installed for smartphone audio playback, though its wiring is not yet connected and will need bullet connectors or similar to use.
