Kawasaki KMX200 A1, 1988 model, two-stroke, runs and starts

1988 Kawasaki KMX200 A1 two-stroke dual-sport motorcycle, 3,337 km as of September 2026. Acquired July 2024, owner performed amateur maintenance and re-registered July 2026. Previous owner (2nd owner) had held it since new in 1988; first owner was original purchaser. Confirmed odometer mileage is genuine.

Runs, steers, and stops without issue. Brakes are weak by modern standards (original equipment). Kicks over easily. Aftermarket carburetor fitted (pure original carb retained and included); pure choke cable no longer functions. Rear brake master cylinder professionally serviced but developed air leak, replaced with aftermarket unit (original included). Original turn signals replaced with aftermarket (plastic degraded with age); turn signal relay also replaced (no longer clicking); both original signals, relay, and spare aftermarket signal included. Headlight is dim. Exhaust manifold has heat-resistant black paint. Fuel tank interior rust-removed. Handle grips replaced with aftermarket. Chain not replaced. New Dunlop tires mounted (front D605F 3.00-21 51P, rear D605 4.60-17 62P, new tubes); less than 100 km ridden since installation. Aftermarket foam air filter fitted (original unavailable). Brake pads not replaced. Front brake caliper and master cylinder disassembled and serviced. Brake hoses not replaced. Fuel valve replaced with new original part. Battery fitted January 2025 (owner notes it may be weak and recommends replacement). Service manual included. Seller is not a professional; this is a 38-year-old machine with potential unknown issues.
